Free Ebooks For Kindle

Where Can You Find Free Ebooks For Kindle?

So I started my journey on locating the best free ebooks for kindle resources (libraries, membership sites, download sites etc) online – no matter if they had an initial membership fee or they are free from the start.

Soon I was able to tell, that sometimes it is better to support the creators and actually get much more in return. Select from bigger range of ebooks, have a full time support etc. In most of the cases the difference in size of ebooks available (paid vs free) was like 10k vs. 200k and similar numbers. Not to mention the freshness of the ebooks, novels, magazines and newspapers. Basically free is free and free services will not deliver the same quality services as paid membership sites, but some of those free sites are decent and you can find what you’re looking for there. That was not the case for me I must admit. From my experience those public free ebooks available for everybody without even a registration – were massively outdated, sometimes my Kindle did not even accept them. And sometimes I just couldn’t read them, because they were incorrectly formated. Anyway, I am not saying, that all resources are the same or that this would happen to you.

That’s why I created this website, so people can learn more about different resources, share their experience and communicate with each other. I think the number of such libraries, websites etc. – is bigger than 20 – that’s for sure. Good news, that you will find all of them reviewed here at freeebooksforkindle.org! At least most popular, most used and well known. I am sure, that our review section will grow as new resources will hit the market.

As you can understand, I will be reviewing all of them, so you can learn more about each of the site and network I’ve found…

Project Gutenberg Review

The Project Gutenberg library is the oldest electronic library on the web today. This current Project Gutenberg Review will explore what services the library offers, including the many free eBooks that are available for download to all types of eReaders.

About Project Gutenberg

Although many of us think that eBooks are a recent addition to our media libraries, the first eBook was actually available on the 4th July 1971. Called eText #1 (or The United States Declaration of Independence), it was the first electronic book to be launched by Project Gutenberg.

The project was started by Michael Hart, who wanted to create electronic versions of books for readers all over the world, without any charges. The name Gutenberg arises from the Gutenberg press, which in the 1600s was able to offer cheap, mass produced books.

By 2010, Project Gutenberg had over 33,000 eBooks available for download throughout the world. Within a year, this had increased to over 36,000 titles. Read more…

ManyBooks Review

There are a number of eBook libraries now available, including the ManyBooks.net. Our ManyBooks Review will look at why the ManyBooks library is so popular with its users.

The library contains an extensive library of eBooks, including many from the Project Gutenberg Library. The library also contains many public domain works and as creative commons works (which have copyrights that allow the sharing of works under special terms).

Unlike many other electronic libraries, this library generates eBooks on demand. It uses the Amazon S3 service, so if you request an eBook in a format that has not been requested by anyone else, it may take a little time for it to be delivered.

It is very easy to download an eBook. Once you have selected your title for download, choose the format that you require it in and then press ‘download’. Read more…
